Torcal Municipal Theatre

The project of works is entrusted to the famous architects Antonio Sánchez Esteve and Daniel Rubio, who in the first months of 1933, give it shape. The work began at the end of April 1933, having chosen as contractor a company from Puente Genil, directed by Salvador Rey Luque, who will be responsible for shaping the design of Sánchez Esteve y Rubio.

Supramunicipal library of San Zoilo

The Municipal Library of San Zoilo (Antequera) occupies the former Monastery of San Zoilo, located in Plaza Fernández Viagas s/n de Antequera, declared BIC by Decree of 17 May 1973 (BOE nº 134 of 5 June 1973).

In the middle of Cuesta barbacanas street, we will find the old Pósito, a building that served to store surplus grain, to have supplies in times of famine, then it was used as a prison in the Civil War, until today it has been enabled for use as a Municipal Historical Archive of the city of Antequera.

Bullring

This arena was built by the Society of the Plaza de Toros de Antequera, a society formed by amateur citizens who longed to have a permanent structure for the Fiesta until then held in public squares arranged with tablados and talanqueras. In 1847 the land was acquired and the works began under the direction of Manuel García del Alamo continuing them Rafael Mitjana, author of the Plaza de Toros Vieja de Málaga.

What is now City Hall or Municipal Palace was until the Confiscation convent of Third Franciscans, to which the church of Los Remedios also belonged.
