Antequera Town Hall Tourism Department. It is one of the most beautiful civil buildings in the town and an essential example of the local Mannerist style in Andalucia. Currently, from the original building, we only keep the façade which, finished in 1636, has three floors divided into three axes. It seems to have been inspired by some architecture treatise. Each and every element is thought to contribute to a very much studied idea of a whole: the height of each section decreases in relation to the lower in order to give the sensation of elevation; the lower sections’ pediments are broken so that it is created a better articulation among the windows of the same axis, while the attic pediments are closed
