The building project is from 1878 and its design corresponds to the proposal of the architect Jerónimo Cuervo González. Its budget was 102,211 pesetas, with the state subsidizing the works at 80,000 pesetas. The building is designed to house the San Luis Gonzaga secondary school. At first, the project was commissioned to the architect Fernando de la Torriente, which did not prosper. His work concludes in 1880. The final result is a building with three facades of style within the eclectic historicism, of neoclassical ascription.
