Church of Santiago Apóstol

The church of Santiago was erected as a simple hermitage in 1519, and since 1822 it has been a parish church. The temple that has come to us must be from the mid-eighteenth century, and may be the work of the master builder Cristóbal García.

Very interesting is its exterior, in which the belfry-façade merges with a kind of chapel-tribune, reminiscent of the models of the Indies. It should also be noted on this façade Mudejar memories, such as the structure of the dressing room porch itself or the vault of the low portico, with its trilobed nerves. The interior is very simple, with a single nave covered with a half-barrel vault and a main chapel with half a little frost.

Santiago Apostol

The interior is very simple, with a single nave covered with a half-barrel vault and a main chapel with half a little frost. In the main altarpiece opens the dressing room of the Virgen de la Salud, a rococo space of white and curly plasterwork made in 1765. The image of the Virgin is from the seventeenth century and is located on a golden wooden temple. The rest of the church is decorated with tempera paintings imitating curtains and other motifs. At present it has four side altarpieces of little interest and the baptismal chapel. In the sacristy are kept pieces of goldsmithing of great value.
