II Paco de Antequera Guitar Festival

The emblematic Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María will once again become the best possible setting to host the II Paco de Antequera Guitar Festival, a cultural and musical event that will take place on Friday, August 1 at 10:30 p.m. and will feature the historic guitarist Paco Cepero as the main figure.

In this new edition, the festival will be held next Friday, August 1 from 10:30 p.m. in the Plaza de los Escribanos, with the imposing Renaissance façade of the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María as a backdrop, in a unique enclave within the city of Antequera.

The protagonist of the evening will be the famous guitarist from Jerez Paco Cepero, one of the great references in the history of flamenco, whose career has been marked by his virtuosity and his ability to accompany great figures such as Camarón de la Isla, El Lebrijano, Tío Borrico, El Terremoto or La Perla de Cádiz.

Author of more than 800 compositions, including songs, processional marches and songs that have even reached the Eurovision Song Contest, Cepero has been recognized with important distinctions such as the Medal of Merit at Work in 2018 or the appointment as Favorite Son of Jerez in 2019. In addition, he shared artistic experiences with Paco de Antequera himself, which gives his presence in this edition a special meaning.

The artistic line-up of the night will be completed with the guitar of Paco León, the singing of Samuel Serrano, the percussion of Pedro Navarro and the dancing of Juan Tejero and Irene Carrasco. The event will be presented by Laura Caballero.
