Antequera Blues Festival

The city of Antequera will host on July 25 and 26 a new edition of the emblematic Antequera Blues Festival, which reaches its 35th anniversary in 2025 with a renewed musical proposal by the local promoter MLMA Storm, which takes over from Cambayá to keep this consolidated event of the summer cultural calendar alive.

The Plaza de los Escribanos in the surroundings of the Collegiate Church of Santa María will once again be the privileged setting for this event

The program will begin on Friday, July 25 with the renowned Barcelona guitarist Chino Swingslide, accompanied by his trio, whose technique with the slide guitar promises to offer a vibrant performance. It will be followed by the band Anne & The Blues Diggers, led by the powerful voice of Anne Florido, who fuses blues with danceable rhythms such as funky and soul.

On Saturday 26, María Carbonell Blues Mood, a group awarded “Best National Blues Band” by the Barcelona Blues Society in 2024, will open the night, paying tribute to black American music. As a final touch, Madrid’s José Insaciable and his band will close the festival with their mix of blues, classic rock and roll and rockabilly, which promise a festive closing full of rhythm.

With more than three decades of history, the Antequera Blues Festival consolidates itself one more year as one of the great cultural events of the Andalusian summer, adapting to the new times without renouncing its identity and essence. The City Council invites both residents and visitors not to miss this event that, in the words of its organizers, “will leave a mark in the heart of Santa María”.
