The history of our family tradition dates back to 1945, when Pepe Fox ran a grocery store on Calle Merecillas. This place became the meeting point for mythical characters of our city, such as Luis Tortosa, Ramírez or the popular “Seisdedos”. There they met to enjoy lively gatherings, accompanied by a good glass of wine and jokes among friends.
The growing demand for wine and tapas led Pepe Fox to transform his shop into a bar, which for many years was one of the most representative in the area. Not only because of the quality of their artisan tapas, but also because of the friendliness and warmth of Pepe and his wife Dolores.
At Casa Pepe Fox we maintain that special identity that characterizes us, offering a cozy atmosphere to enjoy with friends and family. Our menu offers a wide variety of tapas and artisan dishes, including popular specialties such as homemade vermouth with siphon, pig’s trotters, the flamenquín of “Abuela Lola” and the ancient recipe of “Papa Antequerana” with Arabic dressing. In addition, we offer exquisite tuna in butter and creamy cod brandade.
