Antequera Town Hall Tourism Department. The Palace of the Marquesses of La Peña de los Enamorados (the Rock of Lovers) was constructed in the second half of the 16th century, although it has to be said that the present aspect differs a lot from the original one due to the several restorations and additions made during its existence. The exterior has seven vanes, with grilles on the ground floor and balconies in the main floor. It is topped with an attic or loft which was added in modern times. The towers are based on the Antequera model. Very little has been kept from the original interior, as it suffered a fire during the events of the Civil War. The courtyard has only got three wings with columns. Each of the wings has got a set of five brick arches supported by Tuscan columns made of red limestone from El Torcal. The second section is crowned by a clay latticework parapet
